Top Tips for a Bedroom Revamp
Simple changes can make a huge difference to a bedroom and you don't have to spend a fortune to create a new look, you can give your bedroom a fresh and vibrant feel with a few ingenious ideas and a little bit of elbow grease.
First things first is the floor, if you have carpets, then it may be time to get them cleaned, so they are fresh looking, make sure you get under the bed as you may choose to move the bedroom furniture around for a new look. If you have floorboards, maybe a lick of paint of a new coat of varnish will liven them up or swap your carpet for floorboards if they are in good condition. You may need to sand them down before and also make sure your feet are safe by banging down any high nails or tightening up screws.
Fabric headboards can be overhauled too, all you need is a staple gun and about 2 metres of upholstery fabric, if it is luxury you are after, then choose a fabric that feels velvety to the touch. If you are currently without a headboard, why not create one. They are very easy to do and all you will need is some MDF cut to the width of your bed, padding and the staple gun and fabric, plus a drill and screws for attaching the finished to the wall behind your bed. The beauty of doing it yourself is you can go for an over the top headboard, bringing a bit of hotel chic to your bedroom.
Another simple solution for bedroom revamps is to change the bedroom curtains, in summer, swap your heavy curtains for a pair of lightweight sheer ones and vice versa when the nights draw in. Also changing your bedding and throws to reflect the current season is an easy way of giving your bedroom a new look.
There are many little touches you can do from changing the door handles on wardrobes and chest of drawers to adding extra decorative cushions to the bed for an opulent feel. Little changes can revamp your bedroom in no time at all and you won't have spent a fortune.
